Summary
As part of the Politique québécoise sur la gestion des matières résiduelles, the City of Chibougamau wishes to put in place curb collection of brown bin for residential organic materials and small institutions. The project consists of operating a residential organic waste composting facility for the City of Chibougamau and the surrounding area. The site in question corresponds to the former contaminated soil treatment platform. Several facilities, including asphalt pads, a drainage system and access roads, are already present on the site. The proponent expects to begin organic waste collection and site operation in the spring of 2025.
