Summary

The Ville de Chibougamau wants to establish the intermodal logistics center of Chibougamau (CLIC). According to the proponent, this project would increase rail transportation and reduce distances by road transport, to the benefit of companies that could reduce their freight transportation cost in the Nord-du-Québec region. Environmental gains would also be significant by substantially reducing gas emissions. Moreover, by acting as a logistic hub and intermodal zone, the CLIC would strengthen access to strategic infrastructures by maintaining rail service and its multi-user approach. This is a first phase for this project, specifically to address Nemaska Lithium’s need for the Whabouchi mining project.
