Summary
With this project, Hydro-Québec wishes to develop and operate a quarry to produce crushed gravel in the area of the La Grande-3 hydroelectric development. More specifically, the project calls for development of a quarry of about 5 ha that will include an extraction area, a stockpiling area, an equipment storage area and a crushing and screening area. The site must first be cleared of trees and brush, and the topsoil removed. The granular materials produced will be used, among other things, to maintain and refurbish Hydro-Québec’s infrastructure and facilities in the LG3 area, including roads, bridges, culverts and certain buildings.
