Summary
The proponent plans to carry out a bulk sampling program to reduce geological, geotechnical, and metallurgical uncertainties at the CV5 deposit, supporting the feasibility of the Shaakichiuwaanaan mining project. The estimated timeframe for the project is 21 months.
The project involves the extraction of 50,000 tonnes of ore (less than 0.05% of indicated resources), the construction of a 2,271 m underground ramp and related infrastructure to reach two levels (125 m and 215 m). The project also includes the construction of waste rock piles (311,000 t), water collection basins, the installation of a water treatment plant, construction of a ventilation sustems for underground infrastructure, installation of generators and explosives storage.
The objectives of the bulk sampling project are to validate the continuity and quality of the deposit, to test mining and processing methods and to produce concentrate for pilot tests and intermediate lithium projects (including tantalum and cesium recovery).
