Summary
The project is located at the site of the former Troilus gold mine, which operated from 1996 to 2010. It is situated approximately 170 km north of Chibougamau and 76 km northwest of Mistissini. The proponent plans to extract approximately 600,000 tonnes of ore, of which 15,000 tonnes will be transported to Ontario for metallurgical testing. The project would extend over a period of 9 to 10 months, beginning with stripping work, followed by an intensive extraction phase, and then the transport and processing of the ore. The project involves the reuse of existing infrastructure, particularly for material storage. The project includes, among other things, clearing the site, the construction of temporary roads, overburden stripping, the use of heavy machinery, and water management. The main objective is to validate operating parameters for a future large-scale mining project.
