Summary
The Corvette Mine Project is located 250 km east of the community of Radisson, on Category III land. The project is also located on the common boundaries of three Cree communities: Chisasibi (330 km to the west), Wemindji (330 km to the southwest) and Mistissini (350 km to the south). The project involves the exploitation of an open pit spodumene (lithium) pegmatite deposit for an estimated lifespan of 23 years. The mine complex will consist of a variety of infrastructure, including an access road to the mine site from the Transtaïga Highway, a worker camp, waste rock, tailings and ore storage areas, an ore processing plant, and a water treatment plant.
