Summary

With this project, Sayona Nord inc. wants to establish an open pit lithium mine and concentrator on the Lac Moblan site. This site is located about 80 km Northwest of Mistissini, 90 km North of Oujé-Bougoumou and 130 km Northwest of Chibougamau. Sayona Nord acquired the mineral rights to the Moblan property in December 2021.

The proponent is considering the construction and operation of a spodumene mine for lithium production with an estimated duration of 20 to 25 years. The site will include two open pits and the installation of a spodumene concentrator. Several facilities will be required at the industrial complex, including areas dedicated to the storage and accumulation of overburden, waste rock, tailings, ore and concentrate, a concrete plant, water management and treatment facilities, administrative buildings, two camps for 200 and 350 workers, and several garages.

The project will expand the study area (from 443 ha to 2000 ha) and will also expand the size of the open pit (from 26 ha to 85 ha) into a new watershed. The project will also include the construction of a new route for the construction of a new power line.
